My Friends,
As we continue to recover from the events of September 11, let me offer
the words of Albert Einstein:
"A human being is a part of the whole called by us 'universe'. . . a part
limited in time and space. He experiences his thoughts and feelings as
separated from the rest—a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.
This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal
desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to
free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to
embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty."
So, to better embrace the warmth and joy of the Holiday Season, let me
offer some suggestions of my own:
- Drink more water than alcohol or coffee.
- Listen more than speak.
- Speak only kindness, truth and love.
- Remember, always, who and what are important to you.
May the blessings of the Season be with you, now and always.
